The OvaCure Model
The OvaCure Model has proven to be an invaluable tool in developing and initiating research projects. Several of the projects presented at the OvaCure Innovation Challenge 2020 have thus either become a reality or have spawned other new projects. In addition, several of the participants during the first Innovation Challenge expressed that the model was unique and offered a new work approach that they would certainly adopt and test themselves at their institutes.
The model benefits both researchers and patients, as it creates a space for researchers to debate and share knowledge across specialties while building networks and potential new collaborations. With relation to the patients, the model focuses on regarding ovarian cancer from several angles, and the break with the classic silo thinking creates innovative research projects that ultimately benefit women with ovarian cancer.
